Was my husband right in insulting my mom?

I visited my mom and sister last week, my ex boyfriend heard that I was in the vicinity so he came over to my mom's place to say hi....he didnt even sit nor spend 5 mins. Anyways today i was chatting with my husband and mentioned to him my ex came around, well he got really annoyed and started insulting my mother. He said my mom is a shameless woman, how could she allow my ex to visit me at her place. I have been married for 4 yrs now and currently pregnant, does he have right to insult my mother that way?
